The Deaf (individuals who communicate primarily in American Sign Language (ASL)) community is one of the largest unreached people groups in the world, with 98% having no knowledge of Jesus Christ. In Texas alone, an estimated 345,000 Deaf individuals remain unreached. Because Deaf people often blend into the general population, they are frequently overlooked, even within churches, where language barriers limit meaningful access to the gospel. Interpreters, when available, may lack training to communicate Lutheran theology clearly. Deaf Outreach Texas will address this need through three‑day ASL Jesus Signs workshops designed for Deaf participants and for persons who wish to communicate the gospel to them. These workshops provide biblical instruction, worship, fellowship, and culturally appropriate teaching.
Deaf Outreach Texas / Jesus Signs Workshop is for Deaf and hearing people who want to learn how to share Jesus and communicate the Bible in American Sign Language (ASL). The workshop is especially helpful for pastors, church workers, interpreters, teachers, families, and anyone who wants to support Deaf ministry.
