Two new Deaf Outreach Texas with Deaf Outreach Jesus Signs Workshops are coming in January, 2027. It will be more information soon.
The Deaf (individuals who communicate primarily in American Sign Language (ASL)) community is one of the largest unreached people groups in the world, with 98% having no knowledge of Jesus Christ. In Texas alone, an estimated 345,000 Deaf individuals remain unreached. Because Deaf people often blend into the general population, they are frequently overlooked, even within churches, where language barriers limit meaningful access to the gospel. Interpreters, when available, may lack training to communicate Lutheran theology clearly. Deaf Outreach Texas will address this need through three‑day ASL Jesus Signs workshops designed for Deaf participants and for persons who wish to communicate the gospel to them. These workshops provide biblical instruction, worship, fellowship, and culturally appropriate teaching.
The Deaf Family Grow next class will be April 12, 2026
We had Deaf Craft at Lifebridge in Sealy. Deaf and hearing people enjoyed painting many kinds of trees. Carlos Macias taught the class in ASL. ASL students from Houston Community College came and used their voices to interpret. It was a great chance for them to practice their skills.
The next Deaf Craft at Lifebridge will be June 20, 2026.
Texas District Evangelist for Deaf Ministry (using ASL) will be available in 2027. Stay tuned for details.
